We just read an article from across the Atlantic Ocean that reminded us about some ways we can facilitate a less wasteful community. It turns out that the Kenya National Bureau of Standards “has approved the use of biodegradable and environment-friendly packaging as an alternative to plastic bags.” In an article titled “KEBs approve canvas, fabric bags to replace plastic” they state that some of the approved materials include both canvas and fabric.
Big Z Fabric to the reusable bag rescue!
It turns out that we have already demonstrated that some of our customers have already made tote bags (as seen here). A little over a month ago we also helped our customers and hopeful customers on how to create your very own tote bag.
Some things that we think are appropriate to put inside a tote bag would include the following:
- Vegetables
- Fruits
- Dairy
- Grains
- Sugars
- Fats
We tailored that list to fit our narrative of this post. That’s right! Our tote bags that our customers have made make perfect reusable grocery bags. You can also choose from a wide selection of prints and materials from our website to ensure that your grocery bag is unique to your personality so you don’t have to end up using the same exact bag that everyone else is using.
Thank you for taking the time to read this quick post. Sometimes we just like to chime in when we run across a seemingly unrelated topic or post can be related back to what we do. We know we only sell fabrics but we like to think that the creative minds of our customers and artists who shop with us can leverage our product to help the world. It’s a stretch, we know, but truly you definitely can save your trash can and pantry from overflowing with plastic bags by making your own reusable grocery bag with out canvas fabric.
