Minky does not shrink, this fabric is very similar to a knit, so it is 100% washable, however, Minky is sensitive to heat which means you should never iron, especially if your Minky item has a pattern, also keep in mind that when dried, tumble must be on low heat or if possible, hang to dry. Another tip to keep your Minky in excellent shape is not to use softeners, they can leave your fabric greasy and prone to clumps.
When you work with Minky, you may want to know that this fabric tends to slightly stretch when sewing it. To avoid this, just leave extra fabric around all edges and then if needed, simply trim the excess off, this will also make your item more durable.
